To continue the women theme, I'd like to ask the opinion of the elder statesmen. Now, I've been with my lady friend for 5+ yrs now, I hope I know what to expect, yet I my pal, a housemate; a short timer, ran in to a problem tonight. Myself, said pal, and a school friend, someone we had knocked with for 10+ yrs, got together, with ladies in tow tonight; bearing in mind we hadn't been together for 2+yrs. we enjoyed a pleasant night in Belfasts finest, and came home to my pals and myselfs (a student arrangement) abode, with long term friend in tow; and proceeded to leave the ladies to their(I cant explain the I before e, except after C, maybe too drunk) own unique talk. We stood in the kitchen, and indulged in manly talk, mainly political (in Ireland we have plenty) and made the mistake of ignoring the woman folk. TOO OUR PERIL!!! Thankfully my lady friend was not present, but my pals were not so fortunate; they each fell to the "you ignored me all night" phenonomen(sp?-you know what I mean) and then I had to explain to these relative new comers the folley(sp_I'm irish) of their ways. Can anybody supply me with the answer to this universal problem, after 5 yrs I'm still at a loss, hopefully you old sages can help me. How do I steer them away from this storm? IP: Logged |

This is an unsolvable problem. It is best expressed in the riddle: "If a man says something in the forest and there are no women to hear him, is he still wrong?" IP: Logged |
