tonight, while campaigning, a protestor (farm, fuel related) smashed an egg in Prescots face from about 2 feet. A fight began and its been shown that Prescot threw the first punch. He'll now be under a lot of pressure to resign. i'd be interested to know if you guys think he should. (Especially interested in what you've got to say Siggi  ) IP: Logged |

I don't know Ireland's politics and I don't know this Prescot guy from the man in the moon. I would think I have a pretty unbiased opinion. If someone smashed an egg in my face they'd be eating a punch. I don't think the guy should resign. IP: Logged |

I say good for him for not being a spineless tosser and hollering for the police. If somebody smashed an egg in his face he was entitled to lamp the guy, regardless of the issue. Prescot is almost a real man first and a politician second. Almost. IP: Logged |

Our socialist rectal orifice actually grabbed a protester, who was just in the rectal orifice's way, by the throat on camera. No charges. Recently, our socialist rectal orifice was hit in the face with a pie. The hitter was charged with assault. Funny how there's one law for some but not for others. Kind of like that Washington D.C. reporter who was rabidly anti-firearm but still managed to shoot some kid, with his illegal firearm, for swimming in his pool. Prescot may be a tough guy but assault is assault and the law should apply to everyone. Politicians included. IP: Logged |

A few years ago our Prime Minister choked a protestor who pissed him off. On National TV, too. Did wonders for his image among those of us who think he's an autocratic nutjob. WM ------------------ IP: Logged |

Whoops! Sorry sunray, I didn't immediately recognize "rectal orifice" as "Jean (I'm so poo-poo-lar) Chretien", shame on me!  If he was close enough to lob an egg, he was close enough to lob a handgrenade or 9mm round at really high speed, but he didn't. I totally see why this is assault, and why there could be a slippery legal slope if this sets a precedent, either way, its just tricky because yes if it was a normal person that got egged why not call it assault, but we're talking about politicos here, if he knew the crowd was hostile why did he wade into it in the first place? The point is that our socialist rectal orifice assualted a guy in front of lots of witnesses and was not charged. The guy with the pie was. Those socialist rectal orifices (Read Liberals. That's a political party not a misguided individual)think there's one law for them and one for the rest of us. I have never heard the guy chucked an egg at our socialist rectal orifice.
