I'm sick of scratching for a living, farting around, joining the rat race, being a nobody.
what we need is a WAR. everybody here loves to deliberate about it. Lets face it, what we all want is a good old fashioned war. Something to lift us above this pathetic existance. Who hasn't thought about it?. Maybe we'll get an honourary mention by the next Stephen Ambrose. I wish to fuck the aliens would invade, then I could save the world. What my generation needs is a good WAR.

Uh...don't look now Burkey, but you live in N. Ireland. What do you call what's been going on there? Irish rugby?

Burkey,

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

There is a war on every day... where no one gets hurt... and that is in business. Elevate "rat race" to "glorious battle" and have fun... pride is welcome

If it's so boring then go out and kill a Catholic...or a Brit...depending on what side you're on (how do you tell them apart?). We sure don't want you to get fat and lazy like we Americans who watch TV all the time.

My original comment was intended to be ironic, I'm certainly glad that theres peace of sorts in N.Ireland and I'll take boring anyday. Just for the record....

I agree with Argon, this is distrubing, wishing for a War. War is not a pretty thing, incase you haven't noticed people die in wars.

Christ, it was meant to be Ironic! A statement on how the most popular forms of entertainment invariably end up portrayals of ultra violence of which War is the ultimate expression. A comment on the fact that because my generation on the whole has been lucky enough to not participate in a war that we have to resort to virtual ones. It was NOT an ode to war. Is it true what they say about you Yanks and Irony?

There benefits to war. For those of us that lived through that fiasco called Viet Nam it was exciting. You partied hard (food and drink) so that you can say you lived life to it's fullest before your draft number came up and read every Sunday to see if you were going (reading) then when you see one of your buddies gone you started dating his girl friend (sex) also the music at the time was inspiring (culture) and contained a message that if you lived beyond the fight you would get to come home in a plane and not a body bag (success)
