Here is a scary thought. Now I have no plans on entering politics or the like - but I hate to rule anything out. I don't know if any of you will end up in such a situation - but you never know...

Imagine one of us is up for a cabinet position. Just because of things we have written here in the flame-wars section we would be toast. Not only that, but I think our careers (if in politics) would be toast.

Imagine the many things we have said, especially taken out of context - and let's face it, can you really put anything from the flame-wars forum in context?

Is expressing yourself freely (and for fun) a bad habit? Should people of ambition more closely censor what they post on the web - in any forum?

I also thought about something interesting. I was watching "Marry Poppins" (I LOVE that movie). Remember the "I love to laugh" sequence? It's nuts... Anyway, my point is that it is too bad we can't all have a good laugh in a forum, that is one dimension oddly absent in this virtual place. Sure, we can crack wise remarks and be humorous, but there is no ability to have a few bears and just laugh it off... I think that is too bad.

I guess that is what the "playpen" is for, but it doesn't work, for me at least. Plus, one might get in trouble in there for "acting up".

Yeah Sv, like I think I rambled on somewhere a few months back, pretty soon, you're not going to find anyone worth a toot who wants to run for anything, because somewhere along the line, they would have done something, like just having fun posting in a forum, and it would be quoted all over the place, whether via Rush Limbaugh, or Alec Baldwin's homepage.

I think the last person who could truly be the only one who could pick up the stone without sin was named Mary.

Other than that, we're all human beings. We drink a little too much, we lust, we don't inhale...you get the point.

And believe me, the Dogs of War on both our sides would continue digging if they couldn't find a DWI, a mistress, or an old college roommate who talked about what a party animal we were.

It probably would go over into the very personal parts of our lives, why, we could even be seen as Walter Mitty's living in a surreal world by even playing air combat simulators.

Imagine this ad: "Congressman Sv has spent a lot of time playing 'war games' on his computer at home. Maybe someone should tell the congressman the REAL WORLD is no game. Vote for Jones..."

But then again, this is all a part of the witch hunts that have been perpitrated by both parties for many years. As I have postulated previously, I think it really began in earnest with Kennedy, and reached it's zenith with Nixon, and hasn't started coming back down the other side yet.

So, we'll either have the incredibly dirty campaigns and politics continue, or we'll be stuck with a bunch of boring dweebs that never did anything wilder than take TWO scoops of ice cream at the church social, or suffered the idignity of having to take the test for Eagle Scout more than once.

Weird deal.

I've decided I am going to run for Congress. No, not just one seat...the whole thing. I am always arguing with myself anyway, may as well get paid for it.
