So here we are again. Waiting for the patch. Last time I posted and asked MH to come up with the patch or fuck off. Next thing you know there is a beta patch. Now it is put on hold until the release of the RCsim. Guess we will never see this boughus patch. I bought Bombing the Reich by Talonsoft about 4 months ago and they have released 5 patches to date for their software. ------------------ IP: Logged |

SMACK! ...[The sound of ol' Zur back-handing Kopper] One thing you fail to mention ... TalonSoft "supports" their published software! (unlike our beloved Lack-o'vision) I don't understand this foot-stomping because MH didn't jump off the can without wiping his ass when you thunped on the door ... No RC sim (well no one willing to publish it).. and there is no MH and I assure you there would be nothing more from ol' MH regarding FS! Let'm finish the frick'n program and make some money ... If there still is no action after the release ... I swear I'll join you on your Jihad! ... [This message has been edited by Zurawski (edited 07-26-2000).] IP: Logged |

Zur, You might as well join the fold now. There is always something holding up the patch. After the RCsim it will be something else, guaranteed. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Vapor. The truth is out there... Michael Harrison doesn't exist. After all, how many of you have met him? He is a carefully crafted fiction developed by the CIA and planted into Parsoft/Inertia to see how convincing such a creation can be. He's lasted for this long, but a number of people have started to notice that he's never present when other (now uncovered) CIA operatives are around. The patch will never happen because the CIA is about to cause MH's untimely death rather than risk total exposure. Since he's a fiction anyway, they don't have to worry about trifling morals this time (not that they ever do anyway). Hey! I am not a fictional character! ------------------------------ Kopper: The patch has *always* been an outside of working hours endeavor. While some new or clueless people may not know that, I know you do. Much as I want to get a patch out and in everyone's hands, the needs of the company I work for has to come first. As long as I'm working at Inertia, it's still possible for me to work on things FS (although not every day). If we cut off income to the company and devote our time to FS, we may be able to get a patch out, but it's just as likely that we won't be around after that. Have I been wrong in my past estimates of time availability and when patches will come out, or what I'll be able to deliver? Yes. Will I be wrong in the future? Historical evidence says yes. I think it's fair to say that "the patch" is vapor until it actually comes out. That it's being worked on isn't vapor though. Even if that work is going like a glacier. IP: Logged |

Oh, one other thing... What exactly is involved in "fucking off"? If for some reason we decide that FS is a dead horse (not likely given the Mac port and udgames) what exactly does your alternative to the patch mean? IP: Logged |

"It's not my fault. I signed the NDA, and I intented to respect it. But this guy came into my house and stole the computer/pirated my cable modem access/took pics of myself browsing the source. Now the source code is mirrored on FreeNet servers all over the world. Someone in China/Sealand/on Mars started a business doing FS Patches? It's not my fault" IP: Logged |

"Fucking off." Isn't that all the stuff you do when you can't play SDOE online because of constant ctd's, damage bugs, and ground bugs? It's a variety of things really. Unfortunately, none of them are as fun as playing SDOE online. Mk10 Maj=225th= IP: Logged |

I knew it!! Michael Harrison is gonna be David Duchovny's replacement on X Files!!! Now, I am angry!! ( Always knew the CIA and FBI were sleeping together...of course, since the FBI has both Gillian Anderson and Jodie Foster, guess I can't blame them...) ------------------ IP: Logged |
