Spanky here..

K we drifted on the last one.

We need a patch FREAKING BAD. people are coming for the WW1 and cause of the advertising Mad Dog and PR did and although they might like it at first once they see all the bugs they might start leaving.

REally MH whats the deal. Can't you just talk to the lawyers for 1/2 and hour and the owners and just ask them point blank.

Is this going to go or what?

Can they not give you that answer for some reason?

If they say yes but it will take some time then cool. I can live with that.

BUT i can't see why its so hard to get that yes or not answer so we can get on with living with this sim as is or waiting for a patch or I suspect in some cases people leaving. Not a threat in any way just a fact. Some people might be pissed if its not going to happen, But that doesn't mean they don't need to know.

Come ON we have be fully supporting this sim more then the company that made it. Some people have put a ton of work into it.

All we want is a patch that fixes like 5 thigs or somthing.

What comes to my mind is this

#1. Damage bug (as in some damage packets being lost or not send or whatever)
#2. CTD bug
#3. Bomb bug
#4. Ground unit bug
#5. Mission send bug

And maybe for some people a new TINY feature

#6. Host controls padlock on/off

Thats really all I can think of and I thought that all of these except #s 1 and 6 had been fixed but just not released in a non debug patch.

We would diffenatly except a patch that only did 2-5 but I really think the damage bug is what holds some of the hard core guys back.

We are doing our part. Would inertia please try to set aside a day or 2 to do theres?

Another small idea.

I was thinking, Why not hire someone from the community. REally cheap on a contract basis. REALLY cheap like pretty much volenteer. To work on said patch and just get them to sign the NDA that all employees working there sign? would that not be toally fine with all partys involved?

Could you not maybe even do that for a couple people to get SOS going? they woudn't show any code to anyone and legally they would be an employee of inertia so it should all be cool right?

You're expecting an answer Spanks? Check out Kopper's record post and you'll see it went nowhere.
Same as "where did the real fms go?"

Read my lips, "No patch, no SOS." It is vapourware and will never happen!

That is about as straight as you will get.

MH sent me a note saying as long as he is with Inertia the SOS is always a possibility. The patch is basically on the backburner as well.

Suppose he says "no" to both questions. Then what? Nothing has changed. We still have the same sim. You still have the same choices of staying or leaving, flying or not flying, that you have always had.

What if he says "yes" but doesn't know exactly when? Then what? Nothing has changed. We still have the same sim. You still have the same choices of staying or leaving, flying or not flying, that you have always had.

Demanding and getting an answer will not change the enjoyment nor the frustration of SDOE - today.

Most things in life don't have closure or pat answers so why make a big deal over this one. It's not worth having a nervous breakdown over.

Guys, instead of continually getting bent out of shape waiting for SDoE to come good why don't you spend some time at the B17-2 forum? Check back here occasionally to see if a miracle has occured but get out from under it. There's a good crowd over there and while B17-2 doesn't offer open-plane there is a lot of work being done by v8thOPS on the online side of things to come. Your input there would be valued, and might be more rewarding to you than what's going on here.

And thats besides the other crap that happened.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Oops!

Yes, most of what's going on is behind the scenes. It does get boring but we do our best to liven things up sometimes.

Yeah I get ya sig.

just never been into talking about a game thats not out. I'm more excited about WW2 online then B17-2 and I still have only been to that forum about 3 times in the last couple months.

One forum I do visit is the IL-2 forum on dogfighter.

But thats cause the developer is there daily and takes our advice all into thought and has actually changed some stuff based on our feedback.
