quote: Good source Dan, LOL. Ralph Nader is to the left what Jerry Falwell is to the right. He should stick to hugging trees. Let me enlighten you, Ralphy and the other left wing crackpots: If you knew anything about the high tech industry you would know that very few companies pay dividends. Because of the cyclical nature of business and the high capital investment requirements for R&D the industry conserves cash in good times in order to survive the lean times and to invest in new and untried technologies. It is not just Microsoft but the whole industry which does this. The lower capital gains tax has been long recognized, even by Democrats, as necessary to encourage people to risk their money and invest. Only a few far left ignorant radicals like you and Nadar would suggest doing away with it. Now, if you can please answer these questions: If the problem is a difference in tax rates, then are you and the tree hugger proposing a flat tax for everyone? If it's not "fair" to pay 20% because it is too low, then what about the first $20,000 or so of earnings which is taxed at only 15%? Why is Nadar only mentioning Microsoft? Could it be that he has the same penis envy as you and can't stand anyone having more than he? You think it's only the rich who own Microsoft stock? Sorry to bust your bubble. Why does it aggrivate you and left when someone gets to keep more of their own money? Who does it hurt when these shareholders pay 20% rather than 39% on their capital gains? Granted, the government gets less money to waste, but who does it hurt? IP: Logged |
