I think "The Jug" is a cool plane. Very useful i nmany missions. I ran a mission today, with patch .10 and P-47D. When I started engine, "The Jug" exploded!!!

Maybe this has something to do with that cool starting efect...with patch 9 everything works fine...
If I remember right, I flew Thunderbolt online just the other night, with success, no explosions.

Anyone else having this same prob,or is it just me again...Any Ideas how to fix this.

Thanks...

ok..problem solved...No alt explosions, and it stays in one piece...
Maybe this is something that should be kept in mind to be fixed in the future patch...I´t might be worth it...
Anyway, Thanks guys...

Actually-- it has already been fixed through work on the BP. Just gathering up the last bit of work and getting ready for testing. Shouldn't be too much longer

Guys. .... what value did you settle on for the explosion?

I am adding this 'feature' to another plane, and this would save me having to experiment!!!!

OK....going from memory here....noncatastrophic explosions should be set to:

0.00001 30

I am 99.9% sure that is right...but will check for certain when I get home unless Werner or Nat beat me to it

I think that's the right value. I use .00001 10 on the updated Corsairs (coming soon) If you use .00001 30 you'll get a bigger smoke puff.

The only drawback is that if you turn off alt explosions, you won't get the smoke puff at all using the lower value (or it will be so tiny you won't see it). Which is probably OK, since with patch 10 you probably want to be using alt explosions anyway for better realism.

Hey Jedi/Jeeves, here's something to think on with the explosions: I set the none catastrophic explosions at 0.00001 30 so that that they wont cause a ripple into the parent object, but it WILL pass damage onto it, just not enough to destoy it, OK, I'm sure you understood this, but think, it IS passing damage on, so the explosion on engine startup IS doing damage, my best advice here is to use a much smaller explosion, with a much bigger Visible explosion to limit the chain damage, I haven't tested this, but I'm thinking something like 0.00000001 90 would be best, meaning very little damage is carried by the explosion, but it's visible explosion is big enough to be seen.
