Woof to all, I am in the midst of reinstalling for the 6th time....Question: would it be better for me to do a dual install, one directory for ww1 and a new directory for ww2? I realize I would essentially be installing SDOE twice.. I have uninstalled so many times, with a new problem arising everytime... no missions once, no planes another.. crashing to desktop after terrains and all have loaded.. ww1 planes with no guns, or inabilty to launch rockets, bombs etc... there are so many different sites with their own install order, nations first, no, nations last, no, patch last.. I fly both ww1 and ww2.. and I still haven't got both to work at the same time... understand I am not bitchin here, however I am a bit exasperated.. seems to me a cd burnt with an installer program that has all the patches, plane packs, terrains and updates needed that would actually install necessary files in the order in which it works...that's what a guy like me needs.. just sit back and push a mouse button... .... any updates or patches needed after release of CD could be downloaded.. Ok, if anybody out there also flies both wars, please email me the proper order in which to install.. ie.CD, 1.5 patch, Nationsv2, pp6 then 6.1, then ww1pack, then pack2, plus patch etc... oh by the way, I know to run game after initial CD install before patches, etc.. that didn't help either... I have a six pack of your favorite beverage waiting for the person who gets me and this game up and running the way I know it can... Doggie...

Having seperate installs for WWI and WWII goes a long way in avoiding the "too many planes" problems. I highly recommend it.

Two installs was the best thing I ever did.
WW-2 install:
1. CD install
2. patch 1.5
3. Nations
4. pp6
5. pp6.1
6. patch 1.5.10
I once installed Nations AFTER installing pp6 and I'd get CTD when I changed pilot nationality to any other than what shipped with the CD, ie: Soviet,Italy etc. Also CTD when trying to save missions using Soviet or Italy (etc) planes.
Therefore, Nations first, then PlanePacks.

I have the GroundVehiclePacks in my WW1 install with a few Ground vehicles in my WW2 folder since there are far more WW2 beta planes to add and have fun with.

hope this helps.

cheers, Recon3

Woof, the different directories did it.. thanks Jerry+.. also, the install order according to Archer's site for WW2 and the OPWW1 site for WW1 seems to be working like a charm...Thanks to BlackSheep for the Urls to those sites.. (earlier in this thread..) I have yet to fly online so that will be the final test.. all offline missions in both theatres worked great. A big Thanks again and Woof, Doggie
