I'm having a problem with SDOE since I upgraded my computer that, while not a showstopper, is a real annoyance. Basically, the problem is that tiles on the horizon don't "switchin" until I can see them entirely, or almost entirely. This is best illustrated with a picture.

Note the ridge, the triangular cut outs. This problem is the same whether I use the D3D or OpenGl renders, and is not affected by changes in the fog distance. Unfortunately I had patch .9 on my old rig and patch .10 on my new one, so I can't be sure what's causing it although I suspect my Geforce, not the patch.

My sound, video and processor info are as follows:

SB Live! Value
ASUS GeForce 3 Ti200
AMD XP1600+

If there are more details that might be relevant to this situation, please let me know and I'll go find them.

Any help would be appreciated, this sure makes flying at any significant altitude an unpleasant experience.

...as an addendum to that, this problem is not affected by terrain choice either, its not as though Bavaria is what's giving me problems.

Have you got clouds disabled, seems to disable the fog at same time, thought it was due to VooDoo2 prob, never tried it with Geforce 2mx to see.

Werner,
If you look at hilly regions you noticed those cutting tiles much earlier then on flat arreas.

Try to increase the dictance between fog start and farclip out.
This is my setting:
FarClip=12
FogNearClip=7

Rendsburger - I change those settings in sdemons.ini do I?

3dp - thanks for posting, there's nothing worse than being alone with a problem with this stuff.
