Hello all,

I got my Santa Cruz Turtle beach sound Card today to replace my old Sound Blaster. But after installing the Santa Cruz card I'm getting no sound, let me list what has happened below.

First I uninstalled all of the old Sound Blaster drivers, even ran a registry cleaning program and it said there was nothing left over.

Then I shut off my PC, took out my old soundblaster and put the Santa Cruz in it's place in a PCI slot. Booted back up and I installed the Santa Cruz drivers from the disk. No Sound at all.

So I checked to make sure speakers were plugged in, I also plugged the speaker line into every connection in the back of the card none of them produced sound.

So next I ran a check of the card to make sure it was installed properly, and the Santa Cruz sound check said everything was in perfect condition. Then I a few sound tests, I heard no sound at all but the equalizer bars were moving up and down in the Santa Cruz sound options area.

Later I went to the Santa Cruz website and it said to check the irq # and if the irq was 9 or it shared an irq with anything else, that the card would have to moved to another slot. So sure enouigh my card had an irq of 9 and shared it with 3 other things. So I moved the card to a different PCI slot checked it, and to my surprise it was still irq 9, I moved it again and it was still irq 9. And still no sound every time I moved it.

Well, I'm clueless guys, I have been trying to get this to work all day with no result. Does anyone have experience with this kind of card or know what's going on? I also don't know how to change the irq# if that's the problem. Thanks all.

Nevermind I got it fixed here was the solution.

Hello all, Well I finally got a hold of my computer expert friend and he was able to fix the problem. Here was the solution, after trying a few different things my friend noticed that I had digital speakers. So he opened up the Santa Cruz sound properties and eventually found a setting to change one of the connectors on the card to digital audio output, he then plugged in the speakers and blamo! they worked. It sounded short in this post but it took a while to figure this out.
