Hi guys,I'm in the process of tweaking my system and I have just found this great benchmark tool called 3D mark. Well I have managed to up my benchmark score from 3122 to 3392 but that isn't enough to make games run smoother. As I was comparing my benchmark results I noticed that other GeForce2 GTS users that had the Nvidia 12.90 drivers had benchmarks close to 4000!! So my question is, where can I find old Nvidia drivers, I have searched everywhere and only find dead links at the best. I would much appreciate any links, Thanks ------------------

Are you using Mark2000 or Mark2001? If it's Mark2001 then 3392 is plenty for running games smoothly.IP: Logged |

Thanks for the links guys, I did find a set of 12.90 drivers at the 3D guru website, I don't know how to install them yet but I'll have to read there tutuorial, to bad it's not in an .exe. TG if you have these drivers in a .exe then I would much appreciate if you could send them. Next time I catch you on MSN I'll ask you then. Thanks Jerry I'm using 3D mark 2001 but the game I'm trying to get to run smoothly is IL2 the little freezes are driving me nuts, and I'm not running in the highest settings for IL2 either. So this tweaking has become an obsession sort of lol Also at the 3D guru website I downloaded the coolbits overclock utility, and I've upped my benchmark to 3445. That website is great Finn, that website looks like it has tons of cool utilities, thanks for that link also. ------------------ -Blacksheep [This message has been edited by Blacksheep01 (edited 12-11-2001).] IP: Logged |

Blacksheep, the Mark scores also depend on your CPU and memory. After installing the latest Nvidia reference driver 23.11 (which is an .exe file) my Geforce2 GTS/Athlon 1.33GB/512mb 133 memory gave me a Mark 2001 score of 4057. To max your score and your IL-2 performance, disable everything running in the background.IP: Logged |

Thanks for the advice Jerry I'll try disabling everything. I have disabled many other things running in the background and I now have 90% of my system resources free that helped greatly. My system is a 1.1 gig Athlon and 256 pc 133 RAM. I imagine having 512 RAM boosts you benchmark considerably I also got the 23.11 drivers and that boosted my benchmark by 100 I think. Thought it should have been more but maybe it's the RAM holding me back. Thanks again Jerry IP: Logged |
