I'll post the main content of the email here for you or anyone else interested. Bear in mind that these instructions are very simplistic...I wont assume that we are all gurus.

To chop up a Supertif into 400 tiles, you need a Program called Dicer. Its in the ParTools along with UnTiff.

1. Click on the MY Computer icon.
2. Click on the C drive icon.
3. Now create a new folder by Right clicking in the open field.
4. Name this folder a. Thats right "a".
5. Place all of your Dicer program in there.
6. Now create a DOS shortcut in there also. Do this by...
6a. Right click on the Start button at the bottom l/h corner.
6b. Choose Programs.
6c. RIGHT click on MS-Dos prompt.
6d. Choose Copy.
6e. Now paste it in your a folder.
7. Drop your Supertexture in there too. Its the 5120x5120 pixel TIF about 75 MBs large. It will have a name like oceanSuper.tif.

***Ok, assuming that all of the needed files are in there and you have
everything set up like I said. Lets continue..

8. Go into the a folder you created and LEFT click on your MS-DOS
shortcut.
9. A window will open up and all you need to do is type in the following(take note of any spaces):
9a. cd..(yes, exactly like that with the 2 dots)
9b. cd a(the "a" is your folder)
9c. dicer -b 20 20 oceanSuper.tif
9d. Enter
9e. Your computer will go through its gyrations and spit out 400 tiles that are 256x256 pixels each. 5120 divided by 20 equals 256.

Okay here is what is happening. the "-b" means that the program needs to overlap the edges so you will get edges that match perfectly. The first 20 is tiles wide/across. The second 20 is tiles down. The oceanSuper.tif
is the name of the huge Supertif you dropped in there. It could be named whatever you want but it has to match perfectly with what you dropped in there.

I dont think there are mistakes but if anyone spots something, post it here.
