Topic: P47 Exploding at startup problem.

Hey all Just wondering if anyone is experiencing the P47 exploding to pieces when the engine starts? I installed all the patches in the correct order i think, >>>1.5 patch >>>the new 1.2.9.10 patch >>>PP6.0 >>>PP6.1 >>>NationsV2 I hope thats the correct order. Everything else runs fine so far. But soon as the mission starts and i crank up this plane,,BOOM!  Anyone else getting this,or should i try reinstalling, which i hate to do, with all the skins,sounds etc. that i have already added.Thanx in advance, «Èxçí†ér» ------------------ aka Swivet IP: Logged |

Exciter, I suspect it is due to the fact you have alt. explosions enabled in the options_general section. Try cliking off alt. explosions and see what happens.cheers mace: IP: Logged |

LOL. I was curious and tried it. Yup, with Alt. Explosions on the P-47 blows up on start. Looks like a Mafia car bomb.  Another reason not to use Alt. Explosions. I hope Jeeves sees this when he's working on his loadouts. We shouldn't be using Alt. Explosions until it gets fixed. IP: Logged |

this isn't a problem for Jeeves, it's not loadout related at all, but it should be fixed in the Base Pack. The Crew have worked through all the planes and altered the explosion strengths of the planes so that this shouldn't happen anymore, but it's certainly worth checking on just to make sure, for thanks for the reminder The Base Pack is being built to use Patch10, and as such once the BP is released you should always use the Alt Explosion feature, still, thats stuff for the future  IP: Logged |

Yup...I agree with Nat on this....Alt Explosions is too good an option not to use. The P-47D is one of the planes that Condor is working on, and I am sure that this is already fixed if I know him  ------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged |

Will Alt. Explosions always result in planes just blowing up as opposed to breaking apart? I much prefer to see wings fall off, etc. than always an explosion, so I don't use Alt. Explosions.IP: Logged |

That will be fixed Jerry It involves going into each plane and changing the obExplodes values for them all--- that is one of the things we are working on for the Base Pack...it works too I just flew a mission with the Zero and Tiffie....I know- not realistic-- but in both planes, I was able to shoot off wings, horizontal stabilizers, etc...in the patch I miss seeing those pieces flutter by...but they are back IP: Logged |

Also the P-47 was designed to have a backfire at start up, I think it was a smaller version of a flak burst, can't remember who built it sorry. But with AltExpl enabled it would blow it to hell.P IP: Logged |

Hi PSI,Yeah that is a cool effect for the P-47, that little backfire at startup, but when the whole plane exploded and went flying halfway across the map, i figured there was something wrong. I disabled the "alt explosions" and it works fine now  Thanx fellow pilots for all your help! and a big thank you to the patch team!...you guys ROCK!
