I realy love the ocean terain! Great to fly with the Seafire etc. ... BUT the seaplanes don't seem to work with it! They just act as normal planes, so they just explode by hitting the water (?). Is the 'landing on water' trick attached to the terrain?cheers gt ------------------ Please visit: GT's HANGAR Bombing the Reich "You'll have to put her down Baz, we're badly on fire." As I recall, what was done to achieve the water landings was to ad a ground object, the 'seaplane tender' which has a HUGE flat poly LOD that sits just UNDER the water. With this in place, you should be OK to land on the water. What the Ocean needs is to have this object added as a referenced object inthe terrain if that is possible. I have been thinking about making a generic pacific island terrain when I get done with a few other projects I have going. Using the 'Island' concept of 2 terrain sets referenced together, I want to create a BIG water terrain with a few islands added in. All I need is a set of bigger tiles, with the extra tiles referenced onto another terrain. As long as you don't use more than the 400 is should work. I have drawn up a rough greyscale and made a mesh already .... just need a re-sized ocean terrain, and weld the two together ... plus some texture fiddling. I want LOTS of wide open Ocean ------------------ The Pilot formerly known as W.T.G. IP: Logged |

yes, I made a water landing object, that I', sure is talked about in the readme for this terrain, you need to place this object in ME around the middle of the terrain and it enable seaplanes to land, I believe it got posted at simfiles so you should be able to find it thereIP: Logged | |
