I bought my game as part of a 4-pack of games, all Infogrames/Activision titles. Love this Fighter Squadron Game, but only can play with what I figured out on own; blind. No instructions of any kind came with any of the games. What are the keyboard controls, how do I take control of the gunner and bombadier in B-17, and where is this mission builder I keep hearing about? PLEASE HELP a true fan of good flight. Thank You!!!!IP: Logged |

You can find the Mission Editor in your FS directory. The icon is a plane that's sort of a mustard colour in mine. You can make a shortcut to it and put it on your desktop. There's a site with a how to page on it. Naturally, I don't have the url. Try a search of this forum for it. If you open your keyboard.ini in word pad or notepad you can print it to get the key board inputs. The ones I remember due to use are, F7 to move from one crew position to another then F6 to take control of that position. Shift-F7 to go back. F5 lets you jump from one aircraft to another. If you get to what is a coastal gun, you can take control of and fire it too. This includes the AAA guns, some of which move up and down in their vehicle but I don't know how to do that yet. F2 toggles your view in and out of the aircraft you're in. Select bombs or rockets on a wing with 4 or 5 then 'a' to arm them. '6' selects bomb bay bombs and 'a' again to arm them. 'd' opens the bomb doors and usually a joystick button or enter to drop 'em. 'h' gives you the HUD. It's a toggle too. '[' and ']' lets you zoom in and out. The number pad's 4 lets you look left, 6 right and 2 aft. Release it to go back to forward. 8 is forward. Shift and 4 or 5 lets you pan in their direction. The left and right arrow keys let you adjust trim. The more you hit the key the more your trim will change to the point you're flying in circles. I forget whether it's shift or ctrl-j to bail out. 'e' starts your engine(s) and shut them off. 'f' is flaps. Once for a little and twice for full. 'q' opens and closes to canopy on aircraft that allow it. 'g' for landing gear up and down. There are keys for folding the wings on Corsairs and extending the landing hook but I forget what they are. (Very funny to go to an outside view and fold your wings in flight.) Download the SDOE Control utility from www.simfiles.com and you can have a look at your key board file much more easily. Be sure and read the readme files on anything you download. Sometimes you have to edit the keyboard.ini to use everything in the DL. Make a copy of it before you make and save any changes. This isn't all of it but you can have fun with these ones.IP: Logged |

There are also instructions on the CD itself, check the folder called Help on the CD, most what you need to know is in there.IP: Logged | |
