Hey Fellaz, I have these weird anomolies when flying at high altitudes 10k and above, where when i look down at larger cliff sides i see those annoying jagged lines. I only get this weird stuff at high alts mostly. Its just a visual annoyance at times. Wonder if anyone else gets this?I am currently using: a Nvidia Gforce2 MX400 64 MB card Windows ME 866MHZ 256MB Ram Thanx in advance, Swiv ------------------ "bangURdead" IP: Logged |

You are using D3D. This is a well known SDOE bug with D3D. If you fly with Voodoo Glide, or OpenGl with the 2.9 patch, you won't get the cliff jaggies. Supposedly the next patch version fixes this for D3D also.IP: Logged |

What video card do you have? SDOE looks so much better in Glide or OpenGL. If you aren't using the latest patch you are missing out on a lot....like hi-res skin support and doppler sound in addition to eliminating the jaggies.IP: Logged |

Hey Jer, I am using the NVIDIA Gforce2 MX400 with 64MB of memory. I have all the following patches and updates. the original 1.5 patch, then the 1.5.2.9 patch, then PlanePak 6.0, then PlanePak 6.1, then the NationsV2.0 patch. I hope that is in the right order. I went to Tailslides site to get the order in which to install. The Video card options screen does have alot of tweaking features in it. For instance, bear with me for a moment. These are the extra Open GL options on my card. 1) Enable buffer region extension is checked.2) Allow duel planes extension to use local video memory is checked. 3)Use fast linear-mipmap-linear filtering is checked. 4) Enable anisotropic filtering is checked. I have all these options checked, but i have no idea what they really do. The options screen also has options for "Buffer flipping mode" and "Vertical sync". Sorry to dump all that info on ya, just trying to be as specific as i can. Other than all this info, what is a good OpenGL type card under $200 bucks
Thanx again, Swivet^I^

You should be able to run OpenGL just fine. Just go to the Options/Display screen of SDOE and select OpenGL under Renderer. If you are set up correctly your choices should be Software, OpenGL and D3D.IP: Logged |

Ahhh i see now, It wasn't highlighted in the display options of FS, until i ran my cursor over it. Not to mention the "App.exe" that the patch leaves in the Fighter Squadron main directory. Guess i should have read the "readme.txt" Maybe i shouldn't install things at 5am in the morning,,,DOH!!!...... it looks alot better now...."death to jaggies" Thanx again Jerry!
