Topic: help with addon P40

downloaded a P40 for SDOE...nothing i can do will seem to get it to show up in the game...i wrote a misson for it..but everytime I try to enter the mission i automatically crash to desk top. any ideas from any of you guys on this? anything i might have done wrong installing the P40?thanks beowolff IP: Logged |

You need a different startup.ppf file, you're missing some entries. I'll send it to you tomorrow.IP: Logged |

thanks, partner...I wondered what was wrong. I bought SDOE when it first came out...before all these neat addons were even thought of, but took it off when Activision wouldn't release the patch (even though they had it)...now after hearing exciting things happening, I dearly wanted to give it a try again. Wouldn't ya know that the "first" addon I download, I'd have trouble with? ha!anyway...if you can send me what I need, I'd appreciate it. Also, if I run into this again...what should I do? Anyway I can fix things like this myself? thanks again, Beowolff

I'm not sure wich lines are needed for the startup.ppf but, if you still have the p-40 read me, it should state which lines need to be added.IP: Logged |

thanks pal..but the startup ppf didnt help get the p40 in the air...i dont think that the p40 was listed in there unfortunately. as to the other guys' telling me about using the planes' readme...there wasn't any readme with that p40...it must have been a trial or experimental download or something. There was nothing in the download zip but the actual P40 files.. anybody know what else to try...there was no contact files to the author. Anybody actually have a flying P40 out there on their system? Thanks beo

Hi,I have a flying P40.
First check, that all files are zipped to the right directory fighter squadron/media/aircraft/P40F.
Sometimes it happened to me, that I do not select the right path, then you will not find it.
The ZIP comes without any mission. So you have to create one. I had no problems, so I think we can help you out. Steffen IP: Logged |
