Hi Guys, I recently won a 64mb GeForce 2 GTS on e bay. It is made buy visiontek. Now something I didn't know before was that Nvidia doesn't make all graphic cards associated with it's name. I'm new to this graphic card thing. So I was wondering if the visiontek version of the Nvidia card I listed above is good? Meaning does anyone have massive problems installing it, does it cause crashes or malfunctions in other games? Thanks for the help.

Mine is giving me fits, but only because of my cheezy chipsetr on my mobo. It turns out the original Irongate Chipsets don't get along with the Nvidia gforce chips.

So if I have a good motherboard, I shouldn't have trouble? I don't know much about the Mother board on my PC but I just got my computer this year from gateway. So it is a fairly new mother board, not sure if that makes it any better. THanks for the reply

Argon has a Visiontek 2MX-400, but in general, most cards with the Nvidia chipset perform to the same level.

Blacksheep; Just to be on the safe side, peruse the FAQ at http://www.geforcefaq.com/ to see if Visiontek is one of the few makers that have trouble using Nvidia reference drivers, or tweaks. I don't think it is, though. Then it comes down to as they said, your motherboard and the chipset/drivers. From newsgroups, I still get the impression that VIA chipsets don't exist well with Nvidia, but I find it hard to believe at this late date. From the sound of it, you should be ok.

If you do have problems, the URL I mentioned above could prove helpful, as well as the forums at http://www.guru3d.com/ . Enjoy the card! LOL...I am going to have to do a reinstall of SDOE, for only the 3rd time in nearly 4 years, due to some sudden and inexplicable graphics corruption, and I have to say I would rather install a video card than go through reinstalling SDOE.

Won = Free. Free = Good. If it doesn't work properly you're not out the $150Cdn they want for one here. Put it in and try it. If it doesn't work right you have trading goods.
