Hi folks,
I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a small problem. I am having no luck in getting force feedback
with my Wingman Force USB and Fighter Squadron: Screamin' Demons over Europe. (This is unfortunate,
because this overlooked sim, based on the OpenPlane engine, has some of the best "feeling of flight" out
there, IMO.) The other aspects of the joystick seem to be working as expected, and control panel
recognizes the stick and tests OK. I'm running the latest Wingman software (v 4.00) and have used the
profiler to set up the software with the game. All my other games that support FF (MS Combat Flight
Simulator 2, Empire's Battle of Britain, etc., even the new IL-2 Sturmovik demo) implement this feature of
the stick just fine. Any ideas?

I'm running a Micron Millennia PIII 800, TNT2 Pro 32 Mb (with Detonator 12.41 drivers), Win 98, 256 Mb
RAM.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Check the wingman team website. Depending on the version of your software and OS, there's a patch you may need to download. It also fixes problems with some other games.

The location is obscure, but if you dig around, you'll find it.

jh,

Also, did you turn on forcefeedback at the input options screen. Just need to make sure.

Until a power surge blew my logitech FFB (didn't have it plugged into the surge supressor), I used it for SDOE.

Yup, I did Jug head. I did find a 4.10 driver on the wingmanteam site for the WMF. It does help..a little--now I have FF when firing guns. Nothing else yet. SDOE still rocks, though!
Thanks for your help.

jh,

I also have a Wingman Force 3D, and I do not have any FF problems... I'm using the 4.0 Wingmen software.

What version of Direct X are you using ?
Are you using 98 or 98 SE ?
Have you disabled the default self centering spring force of the Force 3D ? ( it can hide the FSSDOE FF effects)

VDU,
I don't have the 3D, just the Force. I'm using DirectX8, Win 98SE, disabled center spring.
Thanks for the query,
jh
