I'm trying to build a scenario with WW1 observation balloons. I am trying to use the 'air target version', or the man-able version. Whenever I try to set the altitude at something like 6,000 or 7,000, when I go to the scenario, the gasbag's on the ground. The Ground target version is at an appropriate altitude, but I can't get the other off the ground when the AI is 'flying' it. Any ideas?I'm also running into a problem that when I set ground targets as the victory condition, the scenario gives a mission complete message soon after the scenario begins. ??? Hmm.. I dont know! I know I got the manable balloons to start in the air for the Hangar and Training missions..The actual ground unit itself is sorta fudged... It starts on the ground and then goes up. It then goes back down after a period of time... Also, if you enable the aircraft tags, you will see many "unknowns" and other balloon tags floating around. Thanks, ArgonV!That gives me the idea to use the Mission Builder to bring up your missions and see how you set them up. There's an art to mission making, and I'm not quite there yet. However, flying around as a gunner in one of those multi-place ships is a blast! I'm eager for more aircraft from the Fokker Scourge period, as well as perhaps a patch for Simfiles that strengthens the wings of the Fokker EIII. The AI ships inevitably rip their own wings off! It does, though, give a sense of accomplishment to fly one and avoid that fate... V/R, Chaps IP: Logged |

Right, then, the problem was that I set the speed of this AI 'manned' balloon (IE not the Ground Target) to 0. See, I figured that, unless this thing was being winched down or up, the speed was 0.The game engine, though, took '0' to mean the thing had stalled, hence the balloon ended up on the ground. So, I set the speed to 5 or 6, and viola! Works as planned. I think, though, that my AI gunner in my Taube still won't shoot at it, and if I hop in his seat, my pilot just flys away!
