I've been opening the data par files in the game with Bigmunger to edit them for seperate installs and do cut down on Hard drive space used, the trouble is the game won't recognise the data files after building. This is all new to me so I figure that I've missed out something simple, can any of you guys help me out with this problem?

I'm certainly no expert in this field, but when I recently started installing, for instance, additional non-plane pack planes by lumping them together in a directory and then making a PAR file out of them, that the latest patch (1.5.2.9) only recognized up to data32.par and the original game (patched to 1.5) recognized even less. What are you naming them?

Thanks for your reply 3dp,
I unbigged data15 (WW1PP2) first to change and add some new stuff I made a copy first did some editing then rebuilt it gave it the same name and put it in the same place that i got it from (having removed the original data 15 first) my plan was to edit all the WW2 stuff out of this install and to save space and make a WW1 only install all neatly Par'ed up, that was the theory anyway.
What I'm aiming for is have two installs on different drives so i dont get the mission editor corruption problem by having to many planes, this way i figure i can edit out the planes i never fly and have more space left for the ones i do.

You've gone beyond me! Sorry. I don't mess with the WW1 stuff so you're in more complicated territory than I. Good luck. Anyone else have any ideas that might help?

Sounds to me like you've gotten way to complicated for what you want to do. Just install another FS directory called something else and you're there.

What you should do is unbig the parfile where the WW2 loadouts are located. Then delete them! Then you wont have ANY WW2 planes show up.

An easier way to do this is you stick in your SDOE CD, open it up in Explorer (Dont autoplay it) and find the setup.exe file. Run that and when it asks you for a directory to put it in, say something like C:\Program Files\WWISDOE

Then you will have 2 installs.
