Ok, I want to know if anyone else experiences this with the P-38. When I first start out I can just fire the cannon. If I fire the machine guns, it seems that the cannon fires also. Because later if I try to fire the cannon it acts like it is out of ammo. I like the option of fireing them separate but I would like some cannon shells left for later on. Does anyone else experienct this? Thanks in advance... weaselIP: Logged |

Make sure your keyboard.ini file contains these lines. Then when you press numbers 1, 2, or 3 it will select the firing mode you want. Mine defaults to button 1 for mg and button 2 for cannon. I think once you have selected the mode you like it stays that way until you change it.inpFireGuns = Bounce Space inpFireCannon = Bounce JoystickButton2 inpFireMainWeapon = Bounce JoystickButton1 inpSelectMainWeapMG = 1 inpSelectMainWeapCannon = 2 inpSelectMainWeapAllGuns = 3

yep, sounds like you've made some changes in your keyboard.inp, as standard this is how things are layed out:1 = mg's 2 = cannon 3 = mg's+cannon as default missions standt with mg's+cannon selected and so should fire both at the same time unless you select specific guns, if this is not the case then your keyboard.inp is wrong, or maybe even loadout.ppf for the aircraft, but myself I've not seen this problem with the 38. Ok, Thanks for the replies. Here is what I have found: ;--------------------------------- ; ; Guns ; ;---------------------------------inpFireGuns = Bounce Space | Bounce MouseButton0 inpFireCannon = Bounce JoystickButton2 inpFireMainWeapon = Bounce JoystickButton1 inpSelectMainWeapMG = 1 inpSelectMainWeapCannon = 2 inpSelectMainWeapAllGuns = 3 ;--------------------------------- This all seems ok. I have a Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro. This must be the default for the mission to select all guns. How would I select just the Machine guns for Joystick button one? The cannon work with button two. Thanks... weasel IP: Logged |

Have you tried press the 1,2 and 3 and checking how they affect the firing on your joystick. You can always go into your stick profiler and program the fir buttons also. I have the same stick and my Button 1 is programed to "Space". IP: Logged |

Jerry, I think you have the answer. I am having trouble with getting my profiler to work. It says that my stick is not connected. That however is a problem with my stick software and not SDOE. Thanks for your input. I will have to wrestle with my stick software and my system. Thanks for all your help. weaselIP: Logged |

Make sure you are selecting the correct profiler. There is one for USB connections and another for regular.IP: Logged |

Actually everyones ignoring one fact. The cannon does run out of ammo before the MG's do, just llike on the 109, 190, zero, and many others. so if your keyboard mapping is switched, or you've mapped your joystick buttons wrong (the more common culprit) this will happen.IP: Logged |

Ok, I've looked for the USB profiler and cannot find it. I've checked the help section and it didn't help. I don't know if I have a USB Activator. I'll e-mail you but I don't know how to activate the profile if I cannot select the USB version. Thanks... weaselIP: Logged |

Is your stick USB capable. Some Sidewinder Pros were and some not.IP: Logged |
