Started trying to use the Pacific terrain the other day. However, when I do I don't have the whole aircraft. This happens in any mission either the test ones or those I've made. I've deleted my cache files with no change. Any ideas? Thanks.IP: Logged |

I'm not exactly sure what you mean "I don't have the whole aircraft", but if you're talking about missings skins, and you've already deleted the cache, then maybe the terrain detail is up too high and you're card is running out of texture ram and it misses the skins for the plane. Try reducing the texture detail in SDOE Options. Just an idea... ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged |

Could be but unless there's a whole bunch of 'extra' data in this particular terrain it shouldn't be. I haven't changed anything in any of the set up. I seem to not get the cockpit of any aircraft. From outside it's fine. Just when I'm in the pit I don't get all the textures etc. Prop isn't right, colours are odd, no instrument panel. And thanks. P.S. The keyboard file fixed whatever went nuts on my machine. Bombs are falling all over the place. Thanks.[This message has been edited by Sunray (edited 06-11-2001).] IP: Logged |

Ok, so the textures only appear messed from the cockpit? I'd say this is an aircraft prob, because when you're in the cockpit of any plane, I'd guess that most if not all of the parts and textures would show up and therefore put the most strain on the card, but you said it happens with any plane. So I'm guessing it still comes down to the terrain. Just to rule this out, try lowering the terrain detail slightly or even fully, you can always make it higher after. Or you can try lowering both sliders (object and terrain) and see if this fixes the prob. If it does, then start increasing the sliders as much as you can without the prob recurring. This is just a guess though, I hope this helps. This is probably the only reason I can see for this prob happening. The Pacific terrain is detailed especially the palm trees, but it looks class. Glad to see you got the bombs dropping again. ------------------ Visit FS:SDOE Online IP: Logged |
