Hi, just recently I had accidently downloaded, installed, and uninstalled a French version of Paint Shop Pro, now I am beginning to get save messages in French from some programs. Whenever the computer tells me to save a document, the dialog is in French. Also when I type, the apostrophy or the tilde key followed by a letter always result in some French character (áàã éèíì í ó ú). There are other problems too... Some of my other programs stopped working saying that there was a conflict between some of the systim files. I suspect the French bug caused this. Can any one help?Thanks IP: Logged |

Check the language your OS is using. It may have been changed by the program. It's in Control Panel, then Keyboard then Properties.[This message has been edited by Sunray (edited 05-05-2001).] IP: Logged |

I did check the keyboard properties but the language was set on English, no change whatsoever. I reset the properties but the same thing still occur.IP: Logged |

Could be something in your registry then. If you aren't familiar with fiddling with the registry, DON'T. Get a registry cleaner program, try www.tucows.com, run it and see what happens.IP: Logged |

You just entered DLLHell. By the sound of it you have an older or newer verision file which as you have found out will not work with your os. The big problem you will face is these system files must be updated in a set, NOT just one file will do. The good news is help is at your own finger tips. First go the Google http://www.google.com/ or http://groups.google.com/googlegroups/deja_announcement.html Deja is great for looking for programming problems and if you put your error number or message I'll bet someone will have a fix for you. I have not been let down yet by them. You can most likely find the system files you need on MS website once you know what sets you need or maybe deja will tell you where to go to get them.
