Set you video driver to standard VgA adapter BEFORE installing the card and drivers. If possible, remove the driver s for your old card after switching to SVGA adapter.make sure shadow ram and video cache are turned off in your bios. IP: Logged |

I hope your install went ok. I have a TNT2 m64 32 meg card and runs just fine in SDOE. Be sure to get the latest driver from nvidia.com. Tweak3d.net has a nice tweak guide, but overall it did't seem to make much difference. IP: Logged |

I must concur on that installation of the latest driver thing. Ever since I've had my computer, I've done what was supposed to be the correct thing and maintain up to date drivers. Well, it seems whenever I update my drivers, is when my computer screws up. Nvidia drivers have been causing me all types of problems with Fighter Squadron. I have an AOpen Nvidia Riva TNT2 M64 card which I was running driver 6.5 with all sorts of corruption. Activision (bless their hearts) actually told me that I needed to use whatever driver my manufacturer recommended and that was 5.32. That did fix my corruption problem, but now instead the game freezes up. FS is the only game I'm experiencing this with, but I found a post on AOpen's newsgroup mentioning that if you have a MB with a VIA chipset that you need to install the 4 in 1 driver so that the AGP driver is installed without the turbo mode selected. I haven't had a chance to try this fix yet (as I'm out to sea), but am hoping after all the other tries and recommendations which haven't worked, that this may finally be the one. All that ranting, just to tell you another thing to watch out for. Also someone on this forum back a couple months ago with a similar problem said to try resetting windows graphics acceleration down from full until you find the sweet spot. For me, I noticed a minor increase in how long the game ran before freezing by setting acceleration to None. Hope anyone out there needed some info, might have gleened something from all this I've just mentionedIP: Logged |
