The problems you are having with the patch like the voice too slow or the hangar appearing ghost like is not your problem I think. I have slow voice and sound effects with the new patch too, but I don't have the hangar problem you mentioned. These problems are related to the patch itself. If you are seeing a black cockpit and outside of plane, then I guess you may have set the light settings too low. Then again, it may be your graphics card, I'm not sure. Did you try opening "sdemons.ini" in your main SDOE folder and adjusting the light settings manually by typing them in? Try it and see what happens.
Also, remember as Jerry said above, that each version of SDOE has its own sdemons.ini file in its folder, if yours doesn't have one, then copy and paste the sdemons.ini file from your standard SDOE (1.5) to the patch folder. SDOE Control 2000 will only adjust the light settings in the main SDOE directory, so you may not be seeing the effects of your changes in the patch version.
Try this:
Open SDOE Control 2000...
Make the light settings how you like them...
Close SDOE Control 2000, copy "sdemons.ini" from the main SDOE folder (not the patch folder) and paste it into the patch folder where the patch SDOE is.
Try SDOE (the patch version of course) and see how it looks.
If no changes happen, then open the "sdemons.ini" in the folder where the patch is and check the light settings. If they are not set correctly, then set them manually with Notepad. If it still doesn't work...
If you still see black after increasing the light settings, then it must be your graphics card, check the drivers for your card. Or maybe the textures are corrupted. To refresh the textures in case their corrupted, just delete sdoe tex cache file in the main media folder.
I hope this helps.
