I have of course checked the options menus, and everything is normal there.

Failing that, make sure your volume control is not muted in Windows...you never know.

Hmm...ok, do you get *any* sound at all in Windows or when you play other games? Try emptying the recycle bin, do you get sound?

If you do, then it looks like SDOE may have a problem. There's one way to fix it though...reinstall. No idea what's causing the ordanance to disappear, maybe the loadout files are corrupted. Try just reinstalling the Planepacks.

This is indeed a problem...

The only thing I can see in my recycle bin is dust. Sound elsewhere runs like a charm. Anyway, this is not only a sound prob. Nothing that a reinstall won't fix (I hope).

What do yo see in the 'sounds' file in your Media directory? If there's nothing there, download and re-install them.

My sounds.ppf is up there at the top of the page. No engine sounds in media/sounds, only gun, ricichet and explosion sounds there. Tried deleting media/sounds, to no avail.
And what about the other problems??

It doesn't matter if there's no sound files in "media\sounds\", at least the default SDOE sounds should be in the PAR files...which reminds me...maybe you're missing some par files??

With a clean install of SDOE + patch 1.5, you should have:

DATA1.par
DATA2.par
DATA3.par

After PP 6.0 and Nations v2 goes on, you should also have:

DATA10.par (part of PP6.0)
DATA11.par (part of PP6.0)
DATA12.par (part of PP6.0)
DATA13.par (I'm guessing this is Nations v2)

The PAR files are located in "Media\". If you're missing par files, this would also explain why you're having other problems with weapons and etc.
