What beta is needed right now to use some of the newer A/C, FM's and DM's? I have 1.5 installed with my normal FS load and installed Beta 1.5.2 build 72 as described to a different folder, but run into probs with the beta (no engine sound and funky video). Is that the beta needed? Tne game ran good on the original 1.5 patch until about 4 minutes into a scramble mission when the video went wild all of a sudden (blocky ground, lines all through the video). I know that overheating the card is the normal cause for video probs, but my AMD Tbird 900 has the proper heat sink and fan. I have an extra case fan sucking air through the case and the video card (Nvidia Riva TNT2 M64) has a fan on the chip too. Could overheating still be a culprit?

Most of the add-ons released at the moment, FMs, DMs, ground objects, etc, will run fine on SDOE + 1.5 patch. Except for any missions or campaigns which require Dovernight terrain, or any night-time terrain. You can still run these night terrains with the official 1.5 patch, but the sky won't be dark. You'll need one of the Betas to make the sky dark. Some of the newer planes have manual prop pitch adjustment possible and you'll need the latest SDOE patch (1.5.2.6), but if you don't have it, you can still use the planes. (I think)

About the graphic problems, one thing I noticed is that if you run one of the Betas, and then try to run the normal 1.5 SDOE, you may corrupt 1.5. I'm not sure if this is true everywhere, but it did happen to me once. To fix it, I just uninstalled and re-installed SDOE.
