When I launch a online flight, THe screen comes up saying it is loading terrain / Aircraft / airfields etc........then BANG I am back to Windows desktop.

Any ideas?

Most likely you don't have something the mission is trying to load. Like a plane, squadron, land unit ect. Does this happen on all of your MP missions? Try and copy one of the offline missions that works into your MP folder and try that one.
