Topic: SDOE crashes with PP6 installed

Hi all,
Im a newbie. I didnt play SDOE for months, but I love this great game.
Anyway I found these websites and wanted to install PlanePack6. I updated to 1.5 and installed it but when the game loads a mission or training or hangar SDOE crashes back to Windows. No matter which plane I choose. Same problem with the original planes after installing PP6. SDOE loads until it reaches Squadrons.
I noticed that after installing PP6 my Media/Aircraft/Plane Folders are all empty. The Media/Aircraft/airfoils folder is empty too, but the startup.ppf file points to some files in the airfoils folder. I really dont know where the problem is. Anyone can help ??IP: Logged |

Hmm, strange Things.
I renamed the pp6 aircraft folder to pp6aircraft and the oldaircraft folder to aircraft. Now I can fly all new planes from PP6 but I cant fly the Original Planes. i tried to fly them from Hangar but SDOE does nothing. Well I tried to copy all content from the "old"-folders into the new folders PP6 installed, they are empty anyway, and tried again to fly the original-planes from Hangar, but SDOE crashes. Trumpfz,First, do you have Nationsv2 installed? You can get it at simfiles as one file or at members.nbci.com/fs_pilots as a set of files. The new squadrons are provided by nations, not by the plane pack. The order of installation should be:
Patch
Nations
Plane Pack Hope this helps. ------------------

Thanks for fast answer, but, yes I have NationsV2 installed..
But same problem with or without NationsV2.
I copied files from oldfolders back to the
folders PP6 has installed. Now I can fly the new and the old planes. But I wonder why ?! First time i copied files back and tried to fly the old planes I got an error message while SDOE crashes ---HWCEXT_GETLINEARADDR Failed--- .Is it possible that the errors come from the SDOE cache file. Anyway, looks like its working right now. But I keep on trying to check if everything works. Thanks again for fast answer.IP: Logged |

OK do this.Completely delete all FS folders and files from your HD 1. Re-install Fighter Squadron
2. Apply 1.50 patch
3. Unzip Nations 2 to media file
4. install PP6 I'm guessing but what it sounds like is something has gone wrong with the install prob Nations ver2, did you make sure it was exported to the FS/media location? IP: Logged |

Thank you all.
I tested SDOE the whole day and found no more errors. I can fly the original planes and the planes from PP6. NationsV2 works fine too.
I love these Planes and I remember back to the days of SWOTL.
Congratulations to all of the authors. Absolutely great work.
I think I should start making Planes, Too. I miss some Japanese like KA-84 and KA-100 ( I think that are their names) and I have some experience in creating Addons to games (I made a Ferrari 250-LM for SCGT if someone knows that game).. All I need is a small tutorial for SDOE. And again, thanks for your help...IP: Logged |
