I just got Sdoe. It's a great game. But I had no idea that I could download new aircraft. Which I did but, it just did't work. That's 'cause I don't know where I supposed to unzip a file on the Sdoe folder. I thought it was going to be like CFS2 where you download your file to your aircraft folder. In Sdoe there is no aircraft folder. Where the heck do they go???? Besides Sdoe, I also have CFS2 and Jane's WW2 Fighters. I love WW2 flight sims. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Most of the files will unzip to your Media folder with no problem
D:\Program Files\Fighter Squadron\Media

Here's an image that may help you see what the aircraft folder tree looks like.

Thats right, a standard SDOE setup doesn't have an aircraft folder (I thin, been along time since I flew standard SDOE), all the files are contained in the *.par files, but as said above, when you extract the aircraft then you would extract it to your Media folder unless the Readme file states something different, usualy they all have readme's so it's worth checking

Here3's the best way to do this.
Download Nationsv2, Plane Pack 6, and the 1.5 patch.

Install them in this order:
Patch,
Nations
Plane Pack

The plane pack will add 75% of the new planes. You can play with these for a while before adding individual planes.

This is also the configuration needed to play on-line.

You will also want to download Meatwater's rolling thunder soundpack after these others have been installed.

Get used to adding skins and sounds for a couple of weeks, then you'll feel more comfortable adding new planes.

Good point Nat, forgot about the readme notes. Also here are the names of the folders for the planes that came with the game:
B17g
Fw190A
Ju88A4
Lanc
Me262
Mosq
P38j
P51d
Spit
Typh

I think that's the right ones. Like nat, it's been a long time since I flew the plain vanilla verison.
