For 3D, I have (please don't laugh) a Diamond Monster 3D II accelerator. It has a tab in my display options where I can set, among other things, the DirectX and Glide resolution (640x480, 800x600, etc.). When I set the display options in FS-SDOE to 800x600, do I need to change my Monster 3D II display settings to 800x600 as well for the best results. I don't seem to see a difference, but it would be nice to know, particularly for taking screen shots for my site.------------------ Be seeing you, 3dp Visit RAF Harkness! IP: Logged |

If I can remember back that far this tab allows you to set the refresh rate for the monitor at a particular resolution. I used 85hz for 640 / 800 and 75hz for 1024 (SLI). You don't need to adjust these when you change any in-game resolutions. ------------------ Yardstick painted this IP: Logged |

Thanks! Next question. Does changing my display properties from 16-bit high color to 256 colors buy me any performance? Basically, I want to keep my texture and detail settings to maximum in SDOE and do everything I can to maximize the performance of my very modest system at the same time.------------------ Be seeing you, 3dp Visit RAF Harkness! No, the sim always runs in 16-bit. Your desktop setting doesn't make any difference.IP: Logged |
