I just received my FS CD and love how it looks but I can not hardly play it. Does it require a joystick? I use the keyboard for all my games, sometimes a mouse. I never liked joysticks. Well the problem is that when I am flying I use the Up, Down, Left and Right Arrow buttons to move but it seems to over adjust or not adjust at all at times. How can I solve this? ------------------

I couldn't imagine playing a flying game with a keyboard and I've tried. You're going to have problems playing this game using just the keyboard due to the way computers work with them. They're just not as fast or accurate as a joystick. Mind you, I wouldn't pay big bucks for one. Mine cost me about $25 or $30 and it works just fine. It's a Logitech Wingman.IP: Logged |

Ok open your keyboard.inp file with notepad. Go to the first line of uncommented code and put these two lines in:
inpStickXAnalog = mouseAxisX
inpStickYAnalog = mouseAxisY
You should be able to fly with the mouse now. Remember to back up your keyboard.inp before doing any edits. The keyboard.inp will be found in your "Fighter Squadron" folder.

Don't forget to map the primary and secondary guns to the mouse buttons too.,IP: Logged |

Thank you for the replies and help.I believe I will go out and buy a cheap joystick. The mouse is worse than the keyboard. I have Janes WWII Fighter and the keyboard works fine for it. FS looks to be a bit better in graphics. I hope I will enjoy it very much. Again thank you. ------------------

I found a joystick that works. It is cheap and only has 2 buttons and speed wheel but it is enough for the one game. It is a Gravis Destroyer.Goth, thank you. I am glad you went and enjoyed yourself. I enjoy making the pages for everyone. Come back for more, especially around Halloween since that is when I have the site pretty much set. Right now I am cleaning up from Christmas decorations.
