i just got this thing today and its INCREDIBLE!!! i love the wing man commands, ability to jump from vehicle to vehicle, the graphics etc etc etc!!!!! GREAT!!!!only 1 little thing I HATE lol. its the damn confining panel view. I am used to the CFS style no panel HUD view. Has anyone made a no panel mod for this game with only the gunsight visible and a wide open view??? is it possible??? is there a file i can delete or edit to get rid of that danged panel??? ah well, back to dling pp6, only an hour and 56 mins to go yeeehaaaaw. No, the panel stays. The programmers felt that the real pilots couldn't see through it, or their so why should we. For the sake of realism it probably should stay.On the other hand, the plane ID tags don't disappear when then go behind the panel or under your plane so you can still track E/A even with the panel there, if you opt to leave the tags on. If you move your zoom up higher you get above the panel but have a narrow field of view. IP: Logged |

The FAQ answer to this is to shift your viewpoint up a little. Like raising your seat, which you could do in the real planes. Use Ctrl-Home and Ctrl-End to move up and down and Shift-Keypad5 to reset it to center.IP: Logged |

Does anyone know where to get more info on commands, other than what was shipped with the game on the card? My card doesn't have any info on how to adjust your virtual pilot seat, etc...Thanks in advance IP: Logged |

I haven't used it for a while but doesn't raising your view with Control Home throw the gunsight off center?IP: Logged |

Not sure what you mean by "off center." You're raising your view, but the view should still be centered on the gunsight. So in effect, you're looking down from above the sight, which gives you a better angle to lead your target. At least, that's how it worked with the shipping aircraft. If the gunsight isn't staying centered then that probably means the plane builder didn't put the bead in the right place, centered in the gunsight. IP: Logged |

No, what I mean is that from above (higher in the seat) the crosshair is no longer at the point where the bullets converge. You have to use your tracers to line up the E/A rather than the crosshair.I'll try to remember to double check this when I get home. IP: Logged |

Well, it depends on the angle below the nose and the rate of turn. It's definitely an inexact solution. But what it does do is get you up high enough to see a piece of your target. Otherwise, the target is well below your nose and out of sight. If your target levels out, or if you need to attack a ground target as part of your mission, then the Shift-Keypad5 recenters your view so you can line up on targets directly in front of you.
