Every plane CTD if the fuel is empty. Is this normal?Rendsburger IP: Logged |

This has to do with the engine fuel consumption rate. Normally the AI will cause the CTD. The rates are screwed up on ALOT of planes but I dont have time to find out how much fuel they carried and then to do all the math. IP: Logged |

I think you'll find Argon that it has nothing to do with the SFC at all, that just defines basicaly how fast the fuel will get used up, but even if you got it right on those aircraft that CDT when empty, they would still CTD, it just takes longer to run out of fuel. That being said.. I really don't know the cause or solution to this, but I'd like a good factual explination of it myself.IP: Logged |

Nat, I did MUCH testing with this... I had this problem with Aladars Me-163 and the Dh2. If the SFC is not set up correctly, the AI will CTD. There are other CTDs associated with the fuel, but of this one Im sure of. I run out of fuel in the Me-163 ALOT and now that I fixed the SFC, nor I or the AI CTD. The same with the Dh2. IP: Logged |

I tested it with the P-51,P-38,Me262 and the B-17 wiith fuel set to 20. A few seconds after mission start i get a CTD.Rendsburger IP: Logged |

Thanks Argon but how do I work it out then? I set the SFC on the La5 to correct values for the engine as documented, and I get DT's when it runs outIP: Logged |

You set the SFC to the proper values and it still CTDs? Hmm that wierd! I know the Jug doesnt CTD when you run out of fuel (Remember that mission where you have to stick it without any fuel?) Put One gallon of gas in the tank in the mission editor. (I cant remember if the Mission editor had the fuel as imperial or US gallons. That affects how much weight one gallon should be) Time out long it takes to burn it. Then compare that to the max flying time and how much fuel she carried and start doing the math. IP: Logged |
