I get this error message:

"Missioneditor has caused an error in SDSIM.DLL. Missioneditor will now close."

What does it mean? Is there a fix short of a reinstall?

I've found a "SDsim.dll" file in the SDOE root directory. It's about 4.5MB large, so I wouldn't attempt to send it however, you can grab this file off your SDOE CD. Just look in this directory of the CD:

X:\setup\sdoe\

You should see it there. "SDsim.dll". Try copying and pasting it over your existing sdsim file on your HDD.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Harman, I'll try this when I get home.

So the message means that this .dll may be corrupted?

uh oh

I copied over the dll...same error message. So I copied over the mission editor too...same error message. So I gave up and decided to fly a little. Guess what? SDOE won't open. New error message.

I am now doing a complete reinstall of SDOE. Wish me luck.

Oh no...

My apologies Jerry, just trying to help, hope you don't have to download your add-ons all over again.

Whew! I didn't do a complete uninstall, just a reinstall off the SDOE CD. So far the only things that were lost were JT's P-38/Spit cockpits. Fortunately I had Spoonman's CD and reinstalled them. Had to readjust some settings with SDOE Control but everything seems to be OK. Haven't tried everything of course but I'm up and running.

In a few weeks I plan on getting a new system so this is good practice for me before I attempt a complete install.

P.S. The Mission Editor still doesn't work. I get the opening screen but it doesn't load anything. Oh well, I can live without it for a few weeks.

Thanks for trying Harman_5.
