Decided to give SDOE another try under win2k on my new PC. Am using a geforce 2 with the latest drivers and the hiccups in the game the last time I tried seem to be gone!

Also, you need to turn your desired display rate down to something lower than what your system can actually display it frees up more CPU cycles otherwise the ground textures take a looong time to load.

Very happy with it so far I may finally be able to dump win ME.

Tailslide,

Would reducing desireddisplayrate in win98 perhaps have the same effect?

Man I gotta try that, - if it works it might help with my lag in tight situations.

Can I ask what updates and patches you used to get SDOE running TS? I could never get SDOE to run.

Arghh.. works great offline but online every so often when I shoot the game will pause for a second or two.

Hmmm.

Weird TS. That sounds like the exact same problem I had offline using W2K. Eventually it would freeze solid.

You should see it from another viewpoint. Your plane pauses for a second and then moves to wehere it would have been if you hadn't paused. It was like fighting a UFO LOL .

I lined up on you once when your plane paused and then you shot past me at about Mach 3!

Would have liked to let the AI fly my plane and watch you in the 109 from Area 51 (or a new SWOTL 109). Twas truly a sight to behold. I couldn't figure out how you got from almost a mile in front of me to my 6 in the blink of an eye in the P-51 3 way. One minute I'm seeing two bogies in the distance, one going down in flames, then 'blink' your mustang just disapears and I see tracers coming from behind me.
