In my insane desire to Anglicize (?) every plane I can (this time it's turning the F4U-1 into a Crosair Mk I), I was UNBIGing some par files to find the appropriate loadout.ppf file, and it occured to me that since I'm swimming in hard disk space, perhaps it might be a good idea to UNBIG all of the PAR files and load the results into the game directory, the idea being to save the application the time and effort of extracting the relevant files from the PAR files. Does anyone know if such a course of action would result in any benefit at all, even if it's just getting the missions to load faster? While I'm at it, I can't seem to get UNTIFF to work lately. I've done it before and I follow the instructions. An example of syntax might be helpful. Maybe I'm missing the obvious. ------------------ Be seeing you, 3dp Visit RAF Harkness! IP: Logged |

Rather than untiff, I find it easier to open the pic in Irfanview, copy and paste in whatever you use for making skins. Personally I keep unbigged parfiles in separate directories... didn't try what you suggest though. IP: Logged |

Don't bother for the game, since I could never see any difference in performance. I do keep a full unbig of hte par files for reference though!IP: Logged |

Irfanview is a freeware "universal" picture viewer. It's simple, convenient and fast. http://www.irfanview.com/ IP: Logged | |
