When running SDOE in 1024*768 on my Voodoo3, the picture is somewhat off-centre. This doesn't happen in D3D, only in Glide. Somebody mentioned that it was fixed in some V3 driver, but I have ver. 1,06 and there's no improvement over earlier V3 drivers. Maybe it's because I use a non-dedicated monitor driver? Another thing, what changes to keyboard.inp would enable panning around the 'pit using my Thrustmaster FCS hat?IP: Logged |

I had this same problem.Change the resolution to 800x600, that should centre the screen. IP: Logged |

You can also hit "ctrl" and "+/=" upon first entering a mission. The image will reduce to a little rectangle in the lower left corner of your screen. You then hit "ctrl" and "+/=" oh, about 25 times until the image expands and fits the screen. It will now be centered. And yes, you have to do this for EVERY mission if you want to play above 800x600 in Glide. IP: Logged |

SDOE wont display higher than 800x600 in 3DFX, resizing the screen does just that, it merely changes you from 1078 down to 800, it doesn't give you 1078 when you change it, so basicaly, just use 800x600, or have a nice picture in D3D I know people seem to like glide, but the picture quality sucks compaird to D3D in higher resolutions (other than the jagged clifs etc, but then the 3DFX quality is so bad everything looks jagged anyway)IP: Logged |

Now, Nat.....a little IMO there wouldn't hurt, heehee!! Personally, I have a preference for the looks of Glide, over the several D3D I have seen ( including my own ) even in higher resolutions. But that's just me...I also like the BoB terrain ( stock ) over any of the Microsoft sims, in any resolution. Only time I worry about graphics and resolution too much is in first/third person shooters where the main character is female. ahem. Can't beat D3D there, fer sure. Again, that is just me ( being a pervert...LOL). ------------------ nealg=FC=

SSHHHH! Argon...tell no one...but No One Lives Forever and Heavy Metal FAKK2. I hear I am too old for them...but as long as there is a God Mode and good skins makers (!), long live the D3D!SHHHH, though...no one must know...

Hey neal! You could be right, but I have a ather large monitor and 800x600 looks simply horrible on it, every straight line becomes jagged in glide because of the low resolution 1792x1344 looks stunning though.. now if only I had a good enough CPU to get me above 6fps in that mode LOL[This message has been edited by Nat (edited 02-03-2001).] IP: Logged |

Sorry, jmiller, it was a reference to another sim - BoB from Rowan. There is some graphics controversy there, which I have not been able to understand as I have used both the stock terrain and a mod of the CFS terrain for it, and can really see no difference; am always too busy trying to keep my planes in the air.
