S! everyone. I'm new meat to FS but it's directory structure seems very similar to Microsoft's Combat Flight Simulator so I'm able to add what-ever where-ever as needed - except for (1) item .... the Nations Download. Do I keep all the files in the folder named NationsV2.1 and pop it into the main FS folder or how? Looking forward to some, ummmm, gentleman type dogfights {:O) Also, besides the Plane Pack, Nations and Patch_v1.5 are there any other DL's I should install before joining the online games? Also Also, the Server Listings Link on the front page, I've not beena ble to reach that section. I'm guessing that's the area where the games IP's are listed? ps: does FS support mission type flying in Multiplay? [This message has been edited by ritt_bear (edited 01-19-2001).] IP: Logged |

G'day Mate Unzip Nations V2 into a temp folder and then open up the readme file. Follow those directions exactly. After the install, pay particular attention to the Austscript file to understand the Aussie voices....(what idiot did those ) The online standard seems to be....evolving at the moment. It is as you stated (Nations V2)but you will also notice the testing of other stuff such as Spooman's loadouts and Condors revised damage models....these are our efforts at engineering a better Plane Pack for the next release. Other optional downloads include the WW1 Pack and various beta aircraft/vehicles. You may, HD space permitting, wish to try two instals. One for the online standard and another for all the extra and non-standard stuff. And yes FSDOE does support mission type flying for online play. “bluegum – rodeo, tallyho” AGAS 5 IP: Logged |

Just noticed your Q on connection...Select 'Network' then 'Internet'. You should then notice about a dozen or so servers. Ignor all that show 9999. If you see California12, go there and then onto 'Fighter Squadron 1.5' and wait for others to join (timings vary according to time zones - others may have to help you here) If you don't see California12 go onto another server that does not show 9999 and start your own game. Once in, quit and go back to the server listing. You should now see california12. Cheers, AGAS 5 IP: Logged |

Thankyou for the info Sir! (Pete, saw ur name in the Nations README :O) but the README that came in the Nations.zip I downloaded (from the FS website) only has the credits, no install info at all so I went to the referred-to website for Nations and didn't see any install info.Anyways, I ask one more thing. Where can I find (and/or download) a good FS tutorial that has all the basics? The folder structure of FS is almost identical to MS CFS, of which I am VERY familar with. But unlike CFS, FS stock aircraft folders have no textures in them folders. I guess the prog loads them before the flight is started? These are the kinds of things I need to learn about, the files used, where they live, etc. Just started with FS and have alot of catching up to do quick, so I can come up to speed and understand what U ole timers is talking about when I read the posts/replies. Thanks in advance for spending the time to help. It's much appreciated! IP: Logged |

It's been a little while...but if all there is is the data6.par file, then all you do is add that file to your FighterSquadron/Media folder...Werner can correct me if I'm missing something...------------------ Brought to you by the campaign for a better Dauntless! Jeeves =FC= IP: Logged | |
