Just got serious problems.

As soon as I want to play an Internet game (Falcon4, Half Life, SDOE), my modem hangs up and I'm bounced back in my "real" world

It does work with win 98.
I can figure out what goes wrong.

Anyone?

Is it only when you try to play a game? Or does it hang up regularly? It sounds like your connection to me. Your ISP may have restrictions on bandwidth. Not likely but you never know with some of 'em. What kind of modem do you have?

Do you have the gaming/DirectX patch for Win2k?

Sunray: my connections are very good and it DOES work with win98.

Mighty: I use Win2000 SP1. I upgraded to DirectX 8 (which solved CTD from B17 II by the way).
Would there be another patch I need?

Thanks for your time.

Hi. Try getting Win2K drivers for your modem. Although they're normally the same as 98's. Win2K is a mish mash of 98 and NT so you may need new drivers.
