My Sidewinder 3-D Pro has begun to fail me, geee and it's 3 years old! Go Figure! What's my best choice? Needs to be compatible with TM rudder pedals. Since they use the game port I guess that eliminates any USB choices? Thanks, ------------------ Archer ^I^ IP: Logged |

I have been through a lot of joysticks and I currently use a Cyborg 3d gold by Satiek. Something strange about this stick, I don't need stickworks anymore as I did with ever other stick I have tried. The Cyborg is very smooth in SDOE and not at all twitchy. For 29 bucks I got a bargan.------------------ Hawk Forum manager and bar keep http://rcwarbirds.com/ IP: Logged |

Archer, I have been very happy with my Logitech Wingman Force / TM rudder pedals setup. The TM pedals are connected to the game port and the LWF is USB. This is the older LWF with the big base. It has great feel and is very smooth. I am not sure about the new Logitech 3D sticks but I have heard good things about them.

Raider had one and it broke shortly after I bought it. Returned it to get the Cyborg. I have heard the Cyborgs have longevity problems but it works so well with SDOE that it is worth the chance.IP: Logged |

LOL, Hawk, I have had mine for about a year and a half. The last stick I had was a MS pro and it only lasted six months before it had too much slack in it. I used to be an arm wrestling champ and tend to really strong arm these sticks, But for me the LWF has lasted fine. Whenever I do get a new stick it will probabaly be another LWFIP: Logged |

I must be hard on sticks also because I sure go through them. I agree about the MS sticks, they do soften in the middle over time.IP: Logged |

I had a Logitech Wingman Force - it seemed to have uneven travel to me. Also it would cut out now and then for no reason - and lock up the game because it was USB. Also SDOE force feedback does not work right, it oscilates out of control. Also it is heavyand you have to plug it into power. Also rudder pedals just mess up the desk so much I have a MS Sidewinder with twist rudder - I can fly much better now and it is just more practicle for me. But maybe a got a Logitech lemon, I don't know. IP: Logged |

I'm using a Logi Extreme Digital 3d right now with no problems. Went through two Logi Force (newest small base type) in two weeks...both started oscillating on their own and started smoking! Since then the Wingmanteam have urged everyone to use their latest drivers, which tone down the forces at the stick. Wasn't crazy about the large deadzone anyway. I tended towards overcontrol.IP: Logged |

Wingman extreme 3D for me too!I find it very nice to use, firm springs prevent over-flying, and overall it is solid and well made. I steer clear of FF since it costs too much for me, and just gives something else to go wrong! p.s. If someone has a good config file for the 3D could they mail me with it! I can't seem to get the buttons to work how I want! IP: Logged |
