OK, I've given up trying to improve frame rates by upgrading my ati video drivers,so help me..If I get rid of my ati rage pro video driver and went to a voodoo3 since they are on sale here, would I have better graphics and frame rates???

Yes, SDOE runs faster in Glide so you need a Voodoo card.

Also, if you are CPU constrained like me try this. Excessive sound demands will really slow down your frame rate. Go to control panel/sounds/audio/sound playback/advanced/hardware accelerator. Move the slider down towards None. How far down is up to you. See if it makes a difference in your frame rate. My slider got bumped to Full and gun fire and explosions were reducing my FPS by 5-10.

Also, eliminate as many programs running in the background as possible.

well, yes it will be fasyer than the ATI, but also this depends alot on your system, motherboard/CPU, for insance, I use an AMDK62-500 with a V3 2000, and get exactly the same FR with Glide as with D3D, but lets be honest, I'm still getting a better picture than you would with an ATI, and higher FR to boot (although not brilliant FR)
