Yes it is the old joystick blues. First let me tell you about what I have and how it was working. I have had a Saitek Cyborg 3d joystick for about 1 1/2 years. I have been using it on SDOE for about that long and never had any problems with it. I also had directx 7a. About 3 weeks ago my joystick started to lose it's calibration, I could be in a game and everything would be working fine then for some reason the joystick would lose it's calibration. For example I was online for over 2 hours and the joystick was fine. I stopped playing and took a break. Came back later flew for about 15 min then the joystick lost it's calibration. What I did to try an fix this problem was I dl directx 8 and installed it but this didn't fix the problem. I installed the lastest drivers for the cyborg still no fix. The really strange part about this is this started to happen when I installed cfs2. Now I'm not saying cfs2 is the blame here, it just started to happen about that time. Does anyone know what else I can try? ------------------ 7./JG3_Himdog out www.luftwaffe.net IP: Logged |

Himdog...I see no one else has answered, and unfortunately I have no idea myself. I suppose you have already suspected and eliminated the possibility that it is a joystick problem hardware-wise. As to CFS2, I also have it, along with DX 7a, and with my CH setup have not noticed a change - that is, until I started using Stickworks CTFJ. In case it gives you any clues...well, I installed and set CTFJ for SDOE and PP 5.3, then had to make a minor adjustment for PP 6. In effect, I reduced the overall sensitivity, and find it works much better in SDOE now. However...when I went back to CFS2, where I had fiddled and twiddled to where I was happy...I now have overly sensitive stick responses. I have tried it with CTFJ loaded and unloaded...I still have a heck of a time setting the parameters within CFS2 settings. To me, that means CFS2 is a bit proprietary regarding the joystick, and may not like 3rd party settings such as CTFJ. Right now, within CFS2, with the sensitivity and dead zones at zero, a slight touch sends my plane careening every which way. Turn them up, and I get a bit of dead pull, then careening again. This didn't happen before I added CTFJ. As to my calibration, it, at least, seems to hold fine. But maybe CFS2 did do something.. I just throw that out there in case it gives you a starting point to look at...hope you find the problem and can fix it.

If anyone has tips on the Cyborg, I'm interested too. I wanted a stick with the twist option, and I fly left handed, so its the only stick for me. But its got a left drift and is way over sensative in the game.IP: Logged |

Neal thanks, it does help. I think it might be joystick failure. I installed my x36/35 back on my pc and the calibration is holding so far. The only problem is that I can not fly sdoe with it because it is way tooooo sensative, great in csf2 and eaw. Now I'm thinking maybe bring out the old TM stick but it has no throttle. I don't know if it would work for my x36/35 but what are the settings you are using in stickworks and in the sdemons.ini?Goth your problem is easy. Go here an update your driver. http://www.saitekusa.com/support/files/downloads/cyborgdigifiles.html The Cyborg worked great for me in sdoe. Get the driver installed and if it's still to sensative. Try putting these values in sdemons.ini file JoyDeadZone=0.086000 JoySensitivity=0.040000 RudDeadZone=0.086000 RudSensitivity=0.040000 Now remember to back your sdemons.ini file before doing anything!

Ive had a Saitek for 9 months and I have just sent it back for its 3rd repair for this very problem. Can only assume its a design fault that happens after a variable period of time but will always happen. If it happens outside warranty period tough luck.IP: Logged | |
