I recently installed DX8, the latest 1.06 driver and then switched to 32bit color so the driver would work without crashing SDOE - as has been discussed here. Now when I quit SDOE and return to my desktop, my desktop background color changes from blue to green. My desktop is at 1024X768 but I run SDOE at 800X600.

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know a fix? Thanks.

I do all that you mentioned to run SDOE. I havent had that problem. I suggest you use default refresh rate under Advanced -> Adaptor

Also, under Advanced -> Monitor, turn Reset display on suspend/resume off (Uncheck it)

Then under Advanced -> Color Management, make sure you have the right color profile for your monitor or none at all (I dont have a color profile)

Then under Advanced -> 3DFX Color, check Lock Gamma.

Try these things and report back please.

My desktop does the same thing. I have found no solution to this.

I may try reinstalling DX8 but I think I reinstalled it once after installing 3Dfx 1.06 drivers and it still turned the blue on my desktop to green.

hehehe gremlins!
