Well.....I spoke too soon. When I saw the fsoe menu come up after installing 1.5 patch,I thought I was home free. However, under "DISPLAY" the only entry is "software". When I run the sim...I can tell it's loading the terrain...because I see a black screen...a lot of disk activity, and some psychodelic little squares pop up on the left side of the screen..one at a time...as the various components are loaded. I get sound effects and force feedback when I squeeze the trigger..but black screen. Ho hum. Here I go again!IP: Logged |

Daniel, I had exactly the same problem when I first got SDOE but before I got delivery of my TNT2 card. The old card was not a 3d card at all so I had a couple of weeks wait as the TNT2 had just been released and was on back order. If your card is a 3d card then you need to run the DirectX Diagnostic tool which is in the tools menu of the System Information program. Report back what you find here and we will try to give you more useless helpful hints IP: Logged |

Well...I don't know what the heck happened, but I ran it again after leaving that post..and I'm now back to blowin' up stuff. Sure felt good to shoot up a town yesterday...you know...the one right across the channel? I did remove some of the programs that were running (listed on the toolbar)...so maybe one of them was the culprit. I did that before, though...and nothing worked. In fact, I stripped it all the way down to systray and explorer. This time, however, when I hit the down arrow key...one by one the graphics options appeared..whereas they didn't before. Go figure. Maybe my pc needs a little thorazine. quote: Originally posted by Commando: Daniel, I had exactly the same problem when I first got SDOE but before I got delivery of my TNT2 card.
