CrazyHorse Cadet	posted 11-04- 10:06 PM I have read through a lot of these threads and have not found an answer to this ? I have a MSFF SideWinder Pro and whenever I launch a mission, all the tension to center my stick seems to disappear and the stick feels "mushy". The response inflight seems sluggish and I do get the forcefeedback but it is fairly weak compared to other sims I fly. As soon as a mission ends and I exit the center tension returns to the stick. I have DX70a, the Stickworks program, Voodoo3 2000 3d accellerator Drivers version 1.04 (as the 1.05 v does not support glide) I also D/L a 03fightersquadron Joytick Cfg. but have no idea how it is supposed to be intalled. (there is no "read me") This file looks like a JS config file but I tried putting it in my stick profile folder with no results. I also tried putting it in my main FSDOE dir and the Media with no results Also I noticed that the error message in "Media" recognizes my card as a 12MB glide when it is really a 16MB card. CrazyHorse Cadet	posted 11-05- 04:34 PM OK that sounds logical. CC I changed the options. I figured out how to load that config file into the Stickworks settings too. I was trying to place it in profiles and it goes into the Stickwork "save settings" folder. Thanks IP: Logged

Sailor Cadet	posted 11-08- 05:50 AM I've been flying SDOE for 18 month now with a MS SideWinder FF, I think the FF effects are very different from one plane to the other. My opinion is that is depends on the amount of "lift" on the controls as interpreted by the Openplane engine. This can change depending on the speed as well, and I remember having very different FF effects on the Me109s different versions and releases when they were still betas. You might need to adjust the FF settings according to the planes you fly. Anyone can confirm or infirm this ? BTW, I've never managed to get a real good config set up for all the buttons, but I like the FF effects... IP: Logged
CrazyHorse Cadet	posted 11-12- 05:32 AM Since I upgraded to DirectX8, the stick response seems to have improved noticeably. I still get the lock up if I try to use glide with the 3DFX V1.05 drivers but Direct 3D runs better. I can get glide with 1.04 drivers but only as high as 800 X 600 res. I have been experimenting with changing Desktop colors, normally I run DT at 16 but I'll try 32 and mipmap is disabled , but I'll try enabling it. The Vid card is Voodoo3 2000 so maybe the settings work backwards from the V5 cards LOL , Ill try anything "Don't show me the dreaded black screen of Death" IP: Logged
CrazyHorse Cadet	posted 11-12- 06:12 AM I just did a test run with the desktop colors set to 32 and mipmapping enabled. The Voodoo3 2000 will now run SDOE in glide with 3Dfx v1.05 drivers. The picture still loads off center and must be corrected with Cntrl + command, but the plus is that the text font size displays like 800 X 600 with the higher resolution setting of 1024 X 768. Possibly an ini setting may correct this,I'm not sure yet. But no CTDT and DX8 seems to give the MSFF Pro response much better.
