Where can I get cooling fan for CL-RIVA-TNT? Has anyone ever used one? Effects? I'm suspecting a heat problem with my card. On 2 different hard drives...it gets part way into the sim...and locks up. Also, does anyone know the exact size of the cpu chip on the Creative Labs RIVA TNT?IP: Logged |

Have you tried just leaving the case open to see if that keeps your card cooler? Or even using a small room fan to blow air on it while the case is open? If these help it would confirm that it is a heat problem.IP: Logged |

No, I haven't tried that. I figured the airflow would have to be directed at the chip. Not? quote: Originally posted by Jerry: Have you tried just leaving the case open to see if that keeps your card cooler? Or even using a small room fan to blow air on it while the case is open? Back when I was running a TNT1, I cooled mine with a spare 468 cpu fan. I rubber banded it to the chip, around the whole board. It looked bad, but worked ok. I put one on each side of the board at one point, but started getting power supply problems to my AGP port, a common problem on the board I was using.------------------ goth =FC= IP: Logged |

A plain old rubber band....whoda thunkit? Think I'll try it. I did open the case and put a cpu fan on the floor of the case and pointed it toward the card...but it didn't help. Maybe the rubber band will work...and it will have the added effect of impressing somone to whom I may eventually sell the machine! quote: Originally posted by goth: Back when I was running a TNT1, I cooled mine with a spare 468 cpu fan.
