What is the method when editing a mission, to get an AI aircraft to land? I have tried all sorts of methods, without any better than a sorry crash-landing. I was astounded when a Polikarpov ( AI ) made a perfect landing all by its self in a mission I'd just created , even lowering the under carriage and coming down on a runway! I had been chasing it for 15 minutes and noticed it slowing down and begin to make an approach to a runway ! I never planned it in the mission :-) I love the endless surprises in SDOE !!

Set your last waypoint to 145mph and have the aircraft at around 1300-1500ft. Then place that waypoint over the airfield. This always works for me but I do believe it may not work with some aircraft in SDOE.

Is the speed set in the waypoint perhaps related to the parameter found in OPS for aircraft landing speed?

Bulldog's pretty much got it. Low and slow is the key. Remember to check the alt of the field. 1600 ft will put you in the side of a mountain if you're trying to land at Taunus.

If AI takes off from a field then who ever's left will eventually return. If you start enroute put the last leg of your flight within approx. 1000/1500 ft of the field and 90% of the time AI will land eventually. I've got missions where the AI lands where ever it likes.

You'll get the hang of it.
